Volunteer

For over 40 years, the Tuapeka Goldfields Museum has shared our district’s rich history
of gold, agriculture, and perseverance. Be part of the story, join our team of volunteers.

Data Entry & Research

Do you love paperwork and organisation? Data Entry & Research may be for you! We need dedicated volunteers to update our public resources to ensure information is correct, properly attributed, and easy to understand.

Community Outreach

Community Outreach volunteers are the face of the museum. Sharing your passion for the Tuapeka District with visitors through hands-on workshops, guided tours, and special events.

Collection Care

We have a large collection of historical objects that require on-going care. The Collection Care team assists with updating displays and making sure our collection is clean, free from pests, and well-looked after. Please note this role is not about repairing or fixing objects.

Cataloguing & Archives

Every object donated to the museum needs to be catalogued in a computer database, sorted, and properly stored. The Cataloguing & Archives team works under the supervision of the Museum Manager to make this happen.

Promotion

Talented photographers and social media wizards help showcase our town, museum, and heritage to the world.

Builders
